I don't think anyone is honestly pissed at you, but you and other excuse makers have likewise no reason to get pissed when your poor taste is pointed out. It was in poor taste, you even said you felt "like a jerk" yourself. Why people cant just get over their egos and admit when they did something that wasnt even necessarily wrong, but in bad taste, is beyond me.
